Current Research
Virtual Private Electronic Record System (ViPERS)
Our primary research effort involves the development of a system
to deliver health records (both EHRs and paper records) access across a broad range of networks through a
simple yet secure and user-friendly portal. The system includes 3rd
party member credentialing, record indexing, record locating and
record conversion functions. A screenshot from our prototype is
here. This technology
is patent pending. RTC is working under an IP license. All
rights are reserved.
Open Source EHR User Credentialing
Currently we have a proposal pending with the US Army to
implement an open source user credentialing system to allow for
EHR system users to be validated and be allowed access to EHR
transfer function requests with the Department of Defense's
AHLTA network - the largest EHR system in the world.
Medicare and Legal Issues
Individual states have different laws pertaining to telemedicine use
and, more
importantly, telemedicine billing with regards to Medicare and
Medicaid. Each state
will have to be evaluated based on the current and anticipated
level of regulation.
It is anticipated that RTC will track these regulations and
incorporate them in the
screening process for each possible deployment.
